About Stuart Grimwood

Stuart was raised in Newbury, Berkshire where he attended Park House School and St Barts School for his GCSEs and A Levels respectively.  After completing a degree in Business Administration, he worked for Thames Water on their graduate development programme as a trainee accountant.  After three years with Thames Water, and having completed his Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualification, Stuart moved to Kier Group plc as an accountant.  He worked in the finance and IT fields for 15 years with Kier, culminating in his role as Head of IT for one of the divisions.
Throughout this time, Stuart developed a passion for sailing and enjoyed sailing around the south coast of England, the Channel Islands and northern France.  In 2013, he took six months off work to undertake a circumnavigation of the UK in his 36 foot yacht, Caol Ila.  Following this sabbatical, he returned to work with Kier but two years later decided to set up his own business which combined his passion for sailing and his business experience.  Spindrift Sail Ltd was created to manage large, traditional sailing ships and manages functions such as marketing and public relations, website design and administration, financial management and all interactions with customers. www.spindriftsail.co.uk
