About Craig Conway
Craig Conway is an Actor, Producer and Entrepreneur. He has worked in Theatre TV and Film over the last twenty years, working with many top practitioners and artists in stage and screen entertainment on a national and International level.
For stage Craig has worked as a writer/director creating and devising projects for various theatre companies and organisations as well as taken on leading roles such as Macbeth, Winston Smith, George Orwell and starred in the highly acclaimed one man show FRAGILE written by BAFTA award winning writer Geoff Thompson and directed by award winning director Nick Bagnall.
Craig also took on the role of Malky in the award winning Romans 1220 also written by Geoff and Directed by the Shammasion Bros. On screen, Craig has starred in films such as : Neil Marshals Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Doomsday, FOUR, Mike Leighs Vera Drake, The Tournament, Devils Playground, Scintilla, Estranged and more recently The Myth of Hopelessness due for release in 2016 in which he is also the producer. On TV Craig has worked on titles such as Vera, Wire In the Blood, Eternal Law, The Fades and Our Friends In The North, Chasing Shadows, The Game, as well as Prey2 and more recently itvEncore and Fox Entertainment Houdini & Doyle and the upcoming series on E4 Aliens.
Craig has also developed and produced Independent Films such as Devils Playground, Scintilla, Estranged which recently screened at the 2015 Film4 FrightFest ( Adam Levins’ psychological thriller Estranged, executive produced by Steven Schneider (Insidious) (Paranormal Activity), Produced by Willian Borthwick and Craig Conway stars Amy Manson (Atlantis) Nora-Jane Noone (Brooklyn), James Cosmo (The Legend of Barney Thomson) and James Lance (Northern Soul) ) and is about to release his first feature as lead producer with The Myth of Hopelessness in which he takes on a supporting role alongside Mel Raido and Morjana Alaoui as well as co-writer with Director Shaun Robert Smith.
As an Entrepreneur as well as acting and producing movies, Craig has inspired many young actors writers and directors to create and produce original work for stage and screen such as “ Car Trouble” Contact Theatre Manchester working with young people from Salford and Manchester, “ Pure Buzz” short doc/drama as writer performer working with young offenders and City of Sonnets (performance) Developing and introducing Shakespeare to young minds in the North of England in collaboration with the RSC Craig is currently developing a mentorship scheme for those who cannot afford Drama school fee’s to aid young performers, writers, directors etc to develop skills and ideas through a series of personal and group workshop sessions throughout the year. He is also working on his first book for publication next year, fusing his knowledge of the industry , his personal journey into recovery and inspiration for those seeking personal development within the arts.
